The secret Timebridge Project has found a way to project human consciousness through time. Alex is to be the first observer to travel 600 years into the past to witness the ritual with his own eyes.

Dangerous technology: Dr Rafael N'Goma's quantum experiment is completely untested on humans.
Academic shackles: The ice-cold institute director Becker demands usable results and subjects Alex's research to strict control.
