The broadcast media do nothing by themselves. They are instruments, tools, used as people choose to use them. There is need therefore to ask the most essential question: wehether as a result of broadcast journalism, the human person is becoming truly better especially the neediest and the weakest. In the case of Nigeria this question appears not to be a variable of consideration anymore. The posture of broadcast journalists points to the fact that external forces form the basis of their journalistic judgement. Forces, they feel are too powerful to overcome. This book does not stand in judgement and condemn; rather, it attempts to support those who are professionally involved in broadcasting, particularly the Nigerian broadcast journalist by setting out positive principles to assist them in their work. Generally, the book is an addition to the critical literature on mass nedia and society . It should serve as an invaluable tool for journalists, journalism teachers and students.
