Thirty-four cantos. Thirty-four plates. A visual language that did not exist before.
The Illustrated Divine Comedy - Inferno is not an illustrated re-edition of Dante's poem. It is a unique and systematic project in which every canto finds its own image through the SMART-ART methodology and the METAMORPHOSIS DÉCO visual language - a personal synthesis of Moebius, Enki Bilal, Art Déco, and Ravenna mosaic developed by Bruno Cerboni over a decade of research with artificial intelligence.
Each full-page plate is paired with a critical text written about the actual image - not the intention - that describes it, interprets it, and places it within the great Dantean illustrative tradition, from Botticelli to Doré, from Blake to Dalí.
The result is an Inferno that has never existed before: neither romantic nor symbolist, neither literal nor visionary - but ornamental, architectural, and faithful to Dante in unexpected ways.
