This is an Essential Guide to the Duolingo exam that includes strategy, method, practice for all tasks, tips, resources, grammar, rules for the test, and more. The difficulty with this type of exam over the more traditional exams, like IELTS, PTE-A, or the CELPIP, is that there are no long periods to work on Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing; rather, these English language macro-skills change quickly on the Duolingo exam. The movements can go from Speaking to Writing to Listening to Reading in a matter of minutes. The Complete Duolingo prepares a test-taker for these movements and offers advice as to 'how' to prepare for the exam and overcome issues with the algorithm, the grading engine, that oversees the 6 productive Speaking and Writing tasks. There are no changes in the Duolingo format for 2025. Since the Duolingo assessment already uses artificial intelligence (AI) for the scoring of their test, particularly for speaking and writing, the owners could improve their AI algorithms to better detect nuances in pronunciation, fluency, and writing style. This would allow for more accurate assessments of the candidate's English proficiency, especially in complex sentence structure and natural speech patterns.
