Occupational toxicology is the science that studies the effects of toxins on workers, the public, and the environment caused by substances and processes used in the workplace. History of occupational toxicology

In the 16th century, Paracelsus, a Swiss physician and alchemist, was the first to propose the idea that the dose makes the poison. This concept is still used in occupational toxicology today.
