This is the revised and expanded 2026 edition of Poems from the Plumber, originally published in 2006.
Poems from the Plumber has nothing to do with plumbers or plumbing. The name simply refers to the fact that the poems were written by a plumber - to his wife.
Over the course of his marriage, Martin Salzer wrote love poems for his wife Marianne and gave them to her one at a time, often unexpectedly, over many decades. This collection gathers those poems into a single, intimate book.
The poems tell stories of challenges, forgiveness, hopes and dreams, and the everyday tenderness of a long marriage - always with a generous dose of humor. Some are tender, some are funny, and a few are gently mischievous, but every one is written in the spirit of a husband who adores his wife and isn't afraid to say so.
This new edition, published under the author's own imprint Marianne House Press, includes additional poems, an updated foreword, and a refreshed design.
Men and women of all ages will find Poems from the Plumber funny, touching, and at times a little corny. Whether it makes you smile or laugh out loud, it is very enjoyable and easy to read - and makes a perfect gift for any woman, while men will definitely appreciate it too.
