Integrating antibias multicultural curriculum in §early childhood is essential. This calls for an §understanding of the components of a successful §multicultural curriculum. This book examined §multicultural curriculum issues in Early Childhood §in the Rocky Mountain Region, U.S.A. Specifically, §the program goals and philosophies and the extent to §which these goals and philosophies were implemented §were explored. In addition, the availability of §professional development opportunities, curriculum §materials and the nature of parental and community §involvement was also examined. Based on this work, §recommendations are offered for curriculum §philosophies, goals and guidelines. The importance §of aligning a program's philosophy and multicultural §curriculum goals with implementation of curriculum §activities regardless of race, gender, ethnic §heritage or cultural background is emphasized.
