Lewis Early is beginning to unravel.
As Canada readies itself for war in the autumn of 1939, Lewis's health goes into precipitous decline. Unnerved by the changes in his personality and behaviour, his wife Daisy watches her husband's psychological descent with growing trepidation. In letters that criss-cross the continent, Daisy ploughs up her husband's history and relationships trying to discern the truth amid the perceptions of his family and friends.
