In Hindu Methodology water is worshiped in the name of 'Varuna Devta'. In Sikhism importance of water is marked in Shri Guru Granth Sahib (Holy Book of Sikhism) along with air and soil. Water of Ganga is considered as sacred. Inspite of all the respectable status attached to water, today, the river water disputes are becoming seeds of unending quarrels amongst the states. These inter-state river water disputes are affecting the integrity and unity of India. It is the irony of 'Punjab' that a state which is named because of significant river waters did present in it, is facing scarcity of water and struggling to retain the remaining of its 'Blue Gold'
