HIV/AIDS has become an increasing global phenomenon and resulted in an enormous human suffering. It was primarily regarded as a health issue, but it has become a debilitating force affecting all social and economic aspects of human life reversing the economic development of countries. Despite advances in scientific understanding of HIV, its prevention and treatment many people are still infected by HIV. This is due to the fact that they do not have access to prevention, care and treatment due to lack of education and awareness about preventive measures. In HIV patients goal of therapy is to optimize oral hygiene and function,monitor for and manage HIV associated oral lesions, monitor for and manage druginduced oral side effects.
