Focus on the End-User is an invitation to (re)consider translation and localization processes from the perspective of the end-user, by looking at statistical data, provided by search engines. Search engines can function as an online communication mediator between companies and potential buyers, even more so when inter-lingual communication is involved. A termbase built on data from search engines can be employed in translation and localization as a pre-validated glossary source, by analyzing the input of search engine users. Thus, by using common signifiers, the communication gap is closed, a common ground is reached. A book revisiting key concepts in Translation Studies and Website Localization from various perspectives, with a key focus on the end-user, as the ultimate receiver of the intended message.
