A man sits in a Russian prison. See him shiver and starve. But his time in the hell-hole is ending just as acceptance has descended. David Grother's debut novel, Evolution of a Species, is the story of one man's journey through an almost libertarian society built on greed and selfishness, where all hope seems bleak and even God seems to have abandoned it. The darkness that surrounds the novel is simply the mysteriousness regarding the culmination of questions that must be asked as bio-engineering becomes more and more relevant, and how, as a capitalist society, we should attempt to answer these questions.
