Escape to Enchantment is a modern Scottish fantasy set in the lands first made famous by George MacDonald.

His father severely ill with Covid, Stephen, an Edinburgh teenager, is sent to stay with his grandparents in Aberdeenshire. There, Stephen meets Inaya, an Asian Glaswegian recently orphaned by Covid.

Exploring the countryside together they realise the grandparents have links to another world : a world of dragons, dwarves, fairies and witches. Inaya's robust Glaswegian character keeps her safe. Stephen is protected by a fairy who has fallen for him because he has the rare talent of "being sensible".
