The 'Wienerische Tugend-Spiegel' of 1687 develops an ethics in the context of a mathematically grounded idea of universal science which ethics conceives moral action and virtue as a result of computation. In the 'Aretologistica' that ethics is widened to a didactic which sees in mathematical teaching the key to a cultivation of the will and education to virtue. That pedagogic idea had also been put into practise by a famous school-experiment which is stated in a contemporary report included in the work. As a preface to the didactic the work also contains "a general theory of countable and measurable things and of the involved faculties of reason and will" which is an epitome of Weigels complete philosophy.
