My book takes into account digital skills from every perspective I could think of. I brought together sociological theoretical models and digital skills to see to what extent they keep their relevance if analysed together. My joy at the beginning seeing that my hypothesis was accepted by the data faded away when seeing the great importance of digital skills for social stratification nowadays. My book will get you into a journey from descriptive statistics of digital skills across countries around the globe, with a short comparison with previous moments in time when new technologies appeared, to testing how digital skills furnish occupations and how intersectional disadvantage is still relevant also with respect to digital skills, and how digital skills are integrated as statistically significant variable in the classical model of social stratification, to how digital skills matter for memory above and beyond already confounding factors such as hearing and education.
