Cabo Bruno: Brazilian Vigilante Serial Killer
When Brazilian journalist Carla Mendes begins investigating the 2012 execution-style murder of former police officer Florisvaldo de Oliveira-known as "Cabo Bruno"-she uncovers more than a revenge killing. Bruno was a serial killer who murdered over 50 people in 1980s São Paulo as part of a systematic death squad operation. His assassination, 34 days after release from prison, was meant to silence him forever.
Working with colleague Paulo Santos, Carla discovers Bruno's hidden journal at a religious shrine-287 pages documenting not just his own crimes, but an entire network of corruption called the fraternidade.
