Dr. Buzel grounds her equine work in the world of psychology, which differentiates her from many of the equine professionals who come to this work via their experience with horses. Part I deals with equine experiential therapy from a psychological point of view. In addition, a brief description of some of the major credentialing/certifying agencies and organizations are presented including their theoretical orientation and requirements.
