作者生於中國，曾在政府與大學任職，做過律師和編輯。經歷世事瘡湟與心靈困頓，在基督信仰中得到生命的安放。於歐洲留學期間領受呼召並在加拿大事奉經年。本詩集是其精神尋覓的歌詠，更是靈魂懺悔與仰望的禱告。
按照生命成長的階段，分為「曠野之路」「漏壁之光」「窄門之後」三個部分，盼望在生命之道上有所共鳴。
Born in China, the author previously served in government and academia, and worked as both a lawyer and editor. After enduring the upheavals of life and seasons of spiritual desolation, he found rest for his soul in the Christian faith. During his studies in Europe, he received a calling to ministry and has since served for many years in Canada.
This collection of poems is both a lyrical record of the author's spiritual quest and a prayer of repentance, longing, and hope before God. Organized according to stages of spiritual growth, the volume is divided into three sections: "The Way Through the Wilderness," "Light Through the Cracked Wall," and "Beyond the Narrow Gate."
