Apollo is a young sled dog from an Iditarod training center in snowy Alaska. He loves his pack and he loves to run but most of all, he loves to run. His antics cause laughter and joy for his pack, while also causing frustration for the pack leaders and the mushers who run his camp.

No one tries harder than Apollo. Unfortunately, his exuberance holds him back, and he is not picked for a spot on the race team. He feels no one needs him until the racing team gets lost in a furious storm during the big race. Now, only Apollo, his speed and his heart can save the day.

Apollo matures from a fun, frantic old child to a trusted team member who utilizes the gifts that once held him back to become the hero no one saw coming.
