Karen Morgaine earned her Ph.D. in social work and social research from Portland State University. She is an associate professor and the chair of the Department of Sociology at California State University, Northridge, where she teaches courses in community organizing, social movements, the sociology of LGBT communities, qualitative research methods, social welfare policy, and more.
